September 30, 2026 — expanded edition: rechecked the official model table and evaluation PDF, and retrieved the announcement through its DeepMind link. Added original use-case workflows, three untested prompt templates, two pairwise comparisons and hypothetical cost scenarios. Examples of desired prompt outputs are hand-written, not model responses.
September 30, 2026: checked the official announcement, model page and evaluation PDF. Recorded the rollout distinction, pricing stages and four selected benchmark rows. Added original evaluation guidance with explicit evidence labels.
The PDF’s results page uses an October 2026 label even though this guide was checked on September 30. We preserve our actual review date and take the displayed comparison values from the model page. We do not reinterpret that label as a new release date.
What has not been independently verified
- No hands-on Argon API request or account-access test.
- No independent replication of the published benchmarks.
- No latency, token usage or billing measurements performed by Argon Fieldnotes.
- No automatic monitoring of release changes.
How to read our evidence labels
Official announcement means the statement is attributed to the provider. Provider-published results means we are displaying reported evidence. Editorial guidance means the method or interpretation is ours. None of those labels implies first-hand testing.
When a source changes, update the relevant article and this review record together. Corrections should identify what changed and which source supports the replacement.

OWASP: LLM prompt injection prevention
Primary community guidance used for the general attack definition and layered application controls in our prompt-injection explainer. It does not evaluate Argon.
Publisher: OWASP Cheat Sheet Series · checked September 30, 2026October 1 research edition
This edition expands coverage of long output, workflow benchmarks, third-party task economics and Fable 5.1. The underlying provider and benchmark-publisher pages were checked directly. Claims about available access remain separate from a successful account-access test.
Vals: Argon model listing
Third-party benchmark accuracy, cost/test, latency and evaluation settings. The 262,144-token setting is kept distinct from Google's announced ceiling.
Benchmark publisher · checked October 1, 2026Anthropic: Fable 5.1 documentation
Source for Fable's separate context/output limits and listed token/cache rates. The announcement supplies the availability statement and evaluation notes.
Official provider documentation · checked October 1, 2026OpenAI: Astra for work
Source for listed starting token prices. The announcement describes staged rollout; the system card supplies safety context.
Official provider sources · checked October 1, 2026Google's announcement and model table were also rechecked. The original evaluation PDF remains a previously reviewed methodology reference. We did not independently run any benchmark or account-access test. Third-party results are attributed to their publisher.
